Rental Licensing

The purpose of this program is to assure that rental housing in the city is operated and maintained in a decent, safe and sanitary manor and has not become a nuisance to the neighborhood or an influence that fosters blight and deterioration or creates a disincentive to reinvestment in the community.

This program applies to all dwellings and dwelling units that are leased in whole or in part for residential purposes.

  1. A Rental License is a biannual license – 2 year cycle. 
  2. Once we receive a completed application along with the $35 per unit fee, we can set up the inspection of the rental unit.
  3. The inspection takes from 15 – 30 minutes. If the property fails inspection, there will be a $50 per unit reinspection fee.

    Inspections are available between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
