
Long Grass or Weeds
All weeds (other than noxious weeds) or growing grasses upon any lot or parcel of land in the city but for those in agricultural zoning districts or upon unplatted properties, that measure from ground to tip in excess of eight inches (8”), or which have gone or are about to go to seed, are hereby declared to be a nuisance, unsightly and dangerous to the health and safety of the City (
City Code 5-2-2).
Required Turf Improvements
Topsoil shall be spread to a minimum depth of four to six inches (4”-6”) and lawn grass shall be established on each lot upon the completion of the paving of adjacent street(s). In addition, prior to the issuance of occupancy permits for a dwelling so provided, seeding shall be established and maintainable as a lawn, sod shall be installed upon the unpaved street right-of-way fronting the lot and in any drainage swales adjacent to the lot (
City Code 12-3-7:G).
