Signs have a substantial impact on the character and quality of the community and can create traffic hazards, aesthetic concerns and detriments to property values thereby threatening the public, health safety and welfare. As a result the City of Rosemount requires a permit for both temporary and permit signs. The City’s standards strive to improve the visual appearance of the community while providing for an effective means of communication consistent with constitutional guarantees and the City’s goals of public safety and aesthetics.
Standards for temporary signs are summarized in the Temporary Signs Handout.
Campaign sign standards are summarized in the City’s Campaign Sign Regulations handout.
City Code addresses signs in Secton 11-8-4.
