To avoid the risk of rabies, all dogs and ferrets over six months of age must have a license. Owners must present proof of vaccination. The City license runs consecutively with the rabies vaccination. The fee is $1.00 a month for the term of the vaccination, or $0.50 a month if the pet is spayed or neutered. A further discount is available for owners age 55 or over.
Licenses may be purchased from the Police Department in City Hall, 2875 145th Street West, during normal business hours: Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Licenses may now be purchased online by completing an online Dog License form and uploading a copy of the rabies vaccination certificate from your veterinarian. Our Records Department will process the license and will send you a link to make an online payment. (Please see new credit card fees below.) Once we receive payment, we will mail the dog license to you. If you have any questions, please contact the Rosemount Police Department Records Department at 651-423-4491.
