Pine Bend EAW
NOTICE OF COMMENT PERIOD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Rosemount wishes to notify all interested parties of the availability of an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the FHR Pine Bend Solar Farm project. Flint Hill Resources Pine Bend, LLC, (FHR) is proposing the development of 45-megawatt alternating current (MWac) solar photovoltaic (PV) project. The solar farm would be located on a property owned by FHR, west of the Pine Bend Refinery within sections 13, 14, 23, 24 and 25, Township 115N, Range 19W in the City of Rosemount, Dakota County, Minnesota.
The EAW includes review of approximately 482.6 acres of land, west of the FHR Pine Bend Refinery in Dakota County. The project includes the installation of approximately 99,000 single axis tracker modules and direct-buried cable, and the construction of inverter stations, a collection substation, a communication building and approximately ten stormwater basins. The project will also construct approximately 18,000 LF of gravel road and approximately 28,000 LF of compacted earth road within the project site. The project once constructed will supply up to a third of the FHR Pine Bend Refinery’s energy needs.
The EAW, which assesses the potential environmental impacts of the project, will be available online (Pine Bend Solar Farm Environmental Assessment Worksheet) and during business hours at the following locations:
Rosemount City Hall located at 2875 145th Street West and Robert Trail Library located at 14395 South Robert Trail.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a 30-day public comment period for the EAW shall begin on April 19, 2022.
The purpose of this notice is to provide citizens the opportunity to comment on the EAW. Individuals or representatives of organizations are encouraged to submit written comments prior to 4:00 p.m. on May 19, 2022.
