Block Resigns

On Tuesday, September 6, Rosemount City Council Member, Tammy Block, announced her resignation, effective immediately. Block stated a number of reasons for her decision, including a changing political landscape. Block’s current term was set to expire at the end of this year, and she has filed to run for a second term.

Due to the timing of the announcement, Councilmember Block will still appear on the voting ballot in November. Council will discuss options for filling the open seat for the brief remainder of the current term or leaving the vacancy as is. In all likelihood, the city will be required to host a special election in early 2023. More information will be released as it becomes available. Residents are encouraged to stay updated online on our Elections webpage..
