Rosemount Fills City Council Vacancies
The City of Rosemount City Council is back at full strength. Following the recent general election, two vacancies were created: one when Councilmember Jeff Weisensel won his mayoral race and the second after Tammy Block chose to decline her position. Sixteen residents applied for the open positions and eight were interviewed. The new City Council members are Paul Theisen and Tami Klimpel.
“We were thrilled to have such a talented candidate pool for this key leadership position,” stated City Administrator Logan Martin. “There were a number of strong interviews, and the Council had a tough decision to make. We appreciate everyone who applied and encouraged them all to stay engaged by considering joining a City Commission.”
Paul Theisen will fill the remainder of Mayor Weisensel’s council term – a two-year commitment. Tami Klimpel will step into a temporary appointment until November of 2023 when a special election can be held for the full term of Tammy Block’s open position.
