How will I know if the hydrants in my neighborhood have been flushed?

What should I do if my water looks discolored?

• Sometimes this process stirs up natural sediments and minerals in our water supply, which can lead to temporary discoloration from your tap. Not to worry, this water is still safe for drinking, bathing, and cooking. However, we do not recommend doing laundry*. The water will clear up on its own, but if you prefer to speed up the process, simply turn on all of your COLD water taps in the home and let them run for 5-10 minutes until the water clears up. 
• *If you discover you had a load of laundry in during the period of water discoloration, do not put the clothes in the dryer.  Simply wash them again when your water has cleared.
