Prepare for Winter in Rosemount

The City enforces Winter Parking Restrictions from November 1 through March 31 each year.

City staff have lots of work to do to keep our streets clean and cleared during the winter months. We need your help to make sure we can do our jobs quickly and efficiently.

  1. Keep your trash and recycling bins off of the street. Street sweepers and snowplows can't clean the entire street when the edges are blocked with bins. Truck arms can reach well onto the curb. Please place your bins at the end of your driveway or in your yard near the curb.
  2. Mark the edge of your property with tall stakes. If you are concerned about yard damage from the plows, you should mark your yard. Four foot wooden stakes can be picked up free of charge at the Public Works Garage through Nov. 30. Place stakes six inches from the edge of the road and 25' apart.
  3. Make sure your mailbox is properly installed. An instruction sheet is available on our Snowplowing page.

Learn more about our Snowplowing procedures, facts & figures, how to sign up for notices, and order of operations on our Snowplowing page

We appreciate your help and cooperation!
